Jackpot Mines: three things under a tile, not two
Classic mines hides either a payout or a mine under a tile. Jackpot Mines by Belatra Games added a third option - a jackpot symbol that does not pay out on the spot but spins a separate reel instead. The stated RTP is 97, the board runs from 3x3 with six mines to 5x5 with twenty, and the accumulated pot climbs to 200 EUR.

How the third outcome works
A mechanic no other game here has, apart from its sibling Mummy Mines.
Under any tile there may be a coin, a mine or a jackpot symbol. The first two behave as they do everywhere: a coin lifts the payout, a mine ends the round. The third is more involved - it opens a reel, and the reel decides what you got.
The reel again offers three outcomes. A coin adds to the current payout, a mine ends the round despite the lucky symbol you just found, and the jackpot itself pays the whole accumulated sum. So finding the symbol is not enough, it still has to be played for, and it resolves against you more often than for you.
The accumulation is visible on a display above the field. As the sum approaches its 200 EUR limit the display starts flashing red. Players like that, and for good reason: most accumulating mechanics mark the approach to a payout in no way at all, leaving you to guess.

A board where mine count is tied to size
Configuration here does not behave the way it does on an ordinary 5x5.
The game offers a range from 3x3 with six mines up to 5x5 where the count can reach 20. Look at the first figure: six mines across nine tiles is two thirds of the board. Three tiles stay safe, and the round becomes close to a pure lottery with very high multipliers per step.
The upper bound on the big board is gentler: twenty mines across 25 tiles leave five safe. That is still a harsh mode - harsher than the InOut Games maximum, where 24 mines leave one tile and one click - but here the round has somewhere to go.
The practical effect of tying the two together is that the game will not let you build a pointless configuration. Twenty mines on a 3x3 board is physically impossible, so the setting never turns into a way to shoot yourself in the foot, which a free slider readily does.
What an accumulating mechanic pays for itself with
A jackpot inside a stated RTP is not a gift on top of it.
A return of 97 covers everything the game pays out, jackpot included. So the accumulating portion is funded from the same bets as ordinary wins, and the base game pays marginally more meanly than a jackpot-free game showing the same figure on the shop front.
That is general to accumulating mechanics and worth knowing beyond this title. When two games sit side by side at the same RTP, one with a jackpot and one without, the ordinary rounds of the second will be slightly more generous. In exchange the first has an event the second does not.
Choosing between them, like almost everything in mines, comes down to the shape of the distribution rather than to value. Want steady play: take Hot-mines at the same 97 with no accumulation. Want an event: the jackpot here is real and drawn regularly, precisely because its limit is small.
About the gameplay frames
The public Belatra Games demo did not launch for us: the game page opens but the window stays blank. So there is no field frame here, only the genuine cover from the casino catalogue. What the related mechanic looks like can be seen on the Mummy Mines page - the studio's second game on the same jackpot reel.
What happens when a jackpot symbol appears
A separate reel spins and decides the outcome: a coin adds an instant boost, a mine ends the round, and the jackpot symbol pays out the accumulated pot. The jackpot does not simply drop, it gets played for in a second step.
How large does the jackpot get
Up to 200 EUR. As the accumulation nears its limit the display starts flashing red, which is deliberate: the moment is meant to be visible. The sum is small by slot-jackpot standards, and it is drawn correspondingly more often.
Which boards does Jackpot Mines offer
From 3x3 with six mines up to 5x5, where the count can reach 20. The mine range is tied to the board size: six mines on a small board is already most of the field, while twenty on a 5x5 leave five safe tiles.
Does the jackpot affect the stated RTP
It is inside it. The accumulating pot is funded from the same bets as ordinary payouts, so the base game pays marginally more meanly than a jackpot-free game at the same stated 97 would. That is a property of accumulating mechanics in general rather than a quirk of this title.
